Remove Shortcut Arrows

In Windows XP, shortcuts are a great thing. One thing that is kind of irritating is that every shortcut has that little arrow plastered on the icon (so you can tell it?s a shortcut). If you would like to remove the shortcut arrows from your desktop icons, follow this guide:

START - RUN - REGEDIT - HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT - lnkfile - On the Right Hand Side Locate the IsShortcut key, then right click on it and select delete
Reboot your computer.

In fact, one shouldn't remove the arrow associated with shortcut icons as it is used to identify a shortcut icon from the icon of its real file. Remeber you may comfortable delete a short cut without affecting the real file. You can be very confused doing this if your shortcut icon is identical to that of your real file.
