Good day guys,

Please I'm setting up a forum for my blog and I'd love to display adsense the way it's been done here @ Funfani. The display I'm most interested in is that which has ads above and below the firs post of a thread eg :http://www.funfani.com/technical-tips/free-hosting-sites-t1641.0.html

I'd like to display adsense/ads above and below the first posts of a thread. I'm using SMF 1.1.11 with the default theme. I'd appreciate any help you can render as I'm looking to launch the forum in about 1 week's time all things being equal.

Hope to hear from you soonest. Cheers

Hello..

It is easy.. You just need to edit the Display template php file in your theme.

Thanks for the tip Khushi but is it possible for you to give me additional tips on exactly where in the display template file that I have to place the adsense codes?
Thanks.

P.S: I see my signature has been deleted. Sorry I was so in a rush I never read your policy. Do please know I ain't trying to spam your forum. I'm just looking for some help. Cheers

The Easiest way to add ads is to use the Ad Management Mod

You can get it from http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=255

Or if you want to add manually, you can do so by editing the display template file located in Themes > default > Display.template.php and add your ad code after the code where the first post starts. It depends on theme to theme so try changing the ad code placement until it works fine.

Let me know if you still face any issues.

Thanks a lot. I've use the Ad Management Mod and it really didn't do what I was expecting. I'll try editing display template and get back @ you. Thanks again for your help
