Pick up a collection of her favourite TV serials or romantic comedies if she's a movie buff.

If you happen to have some time on your hands, you could even burn a CD of her favourite melodies to give your Rakhi gift that special touch.

Again the choice here is endless, but make sure you take a female companion (preferably one of her friends or your mom) along just to make sure she goes 'Ooh!' instead of 'Ugh!'.

Now when it comes to apparel, there are no rules really, besides one -- get the size right!

Gifting her a top in extra large when she's a small is sure to get you a punch in the arm instead of a delighted hug -- so check some of the clothes she owns to make sure you get her size right the first time around!
