We all know that cigarettes can kill. But did you know that it's actually NOT the nicotine in the cigarettes that is the killer? In fact, when they used to make cigarettes way back when, there were nearly NO reports of people dying from cigarettes. The reason so many people die from cigarettes nowadays is because of all the "fillers".

If you took a cigarette back from the early 1900s and compared it to one today - you could instantly tell the difference by the taste. Nowadays the cigarette manufactures put stuff IN the cigarettes to make them taste better.

Things that we find addicting such as chocolate and sugar. A chemical very synonymous to rocket fuel is used in cigarettes to keep the end of the cigarette burning at exceedingly high temperatures. The actual list of carcinogens in a cigarette is too long to even list in this article, however, here are a few that you can take a look at:

Fungicides and pesticides - these cause many types of cancers and birth defects
Cadmium - ingredient linked to lung and prostate cancer
Benzene - ingredient linked to leukemia
Formaldehyde - ingredient linked to lung cancer
Nickel - causes increased susceptibility to lung infections

Of course ALL cigarettes aren't the same, over 5000 ingredients are in a cigarette besides the actual tobacco. Some of the most standard additives are yeast, wine, caffeine, and beeswax. Just to list a few more ingredients so you can get an idea of how bad cigarettes really are for you:

Angelica root extract: Known to cause cancer in animals
Arsenic: Used in rat poisons
Cyanide: Deadly poison
Ethyl Furoate: Causes liver damage in animals
Lead: Poisonous in high doses
Methoprene: Insecticide
Megastigmatrienone: Chemical naturally found in grapefruit juice
Maltitol: Sweetener for diabetics
Napthalene: Ingredient in mothballs
Methyl isocyanate: Its accidental release killed 2000 people in Bhopal, India in 1984
Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element

And yet the companies still keep making them and we still keep smoking them. In 2004 lung cancer killed more people than breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer combined. Lung cancer accounts for 31% of all deaths from cancer, and 90% of these could have been prevented if people had not smoked cigarettes or other products containing nicotine and tar.

In 2005 according to the American Cancer Society and the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) approximately 555,312 people died of lung cancer in the USA which accounted for about 22.8% of all deaths in the US. That is a frightening statistic. People try to stop smoking by using the patch and other "aids" but sometimes they go through 3 or 4 or 5 tries before they can actually control the cravings and stop once and for all.

I'm one of those people that are always looking for an alternative. To be honest, I don't want to get cancer. I don't want to die of cancer. I don't want the pain that cancer can bring. And yet? I find it really hard to quit. In this instance, I have found an alternative but note it is not approved by the FDA just yet. Then again, a lot of things aren't.

So don't let this waiver your instincts to not try it. It's literally a safe alternative to cigarettes. Yes it does contain nicotine, but it does not contain tobacco, tar, or harmful chemicals. But that little list up above of all the deadly ingredients like bleach? Is not in these safe cigarettes. All it contains is water, flavor, nicotine and propylene glycol (a safe food additive).

When the user inhales at the mouthpiece, a small switch located in the battery is activated and power is delivered to the atomizer. The action is regulated by a microchip which is also located in the battery. When power from the battery is applied, the atomizer is energized and creates a vapor derived from the moisture and propylene glycol that is found in the cartridge.

As the vapor passes through the cartridge, it picks up the nicotine and flavoring and delivers it to the user. The user absorbs the nicotine either through the mucous membranes in the mouth or through the lungs and then exhales. So yes, it will help with your cravings - but it's not a constant killer like the usual cigarettes that you can pick up in the store. What about the price?

Well that is quite a difference as well. Where I live its $45 for a carton of cigarettes. And for this new innovative "cigarette" it is about $10.00 give or take a few dollars. This thing can be used over and over again, as long as you get refill cartridges which cost about the same as a pack of cigarettes. This is safer, healthier, and cheaper. If you want to find out more, then I would suggest checking out "Safe Cigarette" online!
