Had a wild night? Hungry and want a break from the boring combination of oats or stale bread? Head to these places to get a morning treat you've been craving for a long time.

1. Bikers Cafe, Calcutta

You may have guessed it, the theme is motorcycles. What goes hand in hand with leather jackets and Harley Davidsons? All American platters, bacon, sausages, burgers and hash-browns.

Must try: Pink Salmon Benedict, Waffles with Bacon.

2. Mavalli Tiffin Room, Bangalore

Famous for its Rava Idlis, these were created during World War II when rice was in short supply.

Must try: Masala Dosa, Rava Idli, Bisibele Bhath

Located at the India Habitat Centre, this place can take you back to 50s and 60s America with its retro feel.

Must try: Sunrise Skillet

4. Theobroma, Mumbai

Nope, we're not suggesting brownies and upside down cakes. We're talking an English Breakfast that doesn't cut corners anywhere, complete with bacon, sausages, sunny side ups, toast, hash-browns and tossed vegetables.

Don't forget to top it off with a milkshake or coffee.

5. Monkey Bar, New Delhi

To battle the hangover from last night, Monkey Bar serves up the 'Bloody Breakfast’ which is a Bloody Monkey (a special Bloody Mary made with 60 ml vodka, gin or rum) topped with skewers of bacon-wrapped sausages, mushroom, chicken and crisp potato skins. This interesting breakfast appears on the Monkey Bar menu exclusively on the weekends. There are other traditional favourites like Eggs Benedict.

Must try: Mr Miyagi's Okonomiyaki, a Japanase cabbage pancake with pork belly, chorizo, sausage, prawns and onions, capped off with barbecue sauce and tempura bits.

6. Saravana Bhavan

The hygienic and affordable food has made Saravana popular throughout. Try getting there early to avoid queuing outside.
