 There has always been something incredibly cool about surfing, not only as a sport but as a community and lifestyle as well. During the 60’s and 70’s photographer LeRoy Grannis captured some truly amazing photos of surfers doing their thing and hanging out together in what is arguably the coolest era for surfers. The outfits, style, cars and the saturated look of the photos make for some brilliant snapshots into the past.
This selection of photographs put together by Airows shows just how good Grannis was at capturing surfing as the cool sport that it is.
