Gumpert Apollo

This super sexy German car was built with a vision. The vision was to develop a super sports car with outstanding road performance, combining style and functionality. A purist vehicle that offered a unique driving experience on the road, potential success on the race circuit and a price tag that was way below its competitors. This vision of a unique sports car led to the birth of the Apollo.

This swanky car, with gull wing doors is built upon a chrome chassis with an integrated carbon monocoque safety cell.

The Apollo is driven by a 4.2-litre V8 engine that produces a power of 650 bhp. The Gumpert Apollo reaches the 100 kmph mark from a standstill in 3 seconds flat. This mid engined, rear wheel driven German power car has a top speed of 360 kmph.

The Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 edition

As you may have guessed it, the name Mercedes-Benz Mclaren comes from a joint venture between Mercedes Benz and McLaren Automotive. This Anglo-German supercar is assembled at the McLaren Technology Centre in England.

The name 722, comes as a way of acknowledging the victory of British racing legends Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson who used a Mercedes Benz 300 SLR, and started the race at 7.22 am. The 722’s supercharged V8 engine gives out a power of 641 bhp and 968 Nm of torque.

The presence of an automatic gear box, front mid-engined arrangement and its driving characteristics have lead some commentators to classify the SLR McLaren as a Super GT whose closest rivals are the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and Ferrari 599 GTB.

The SLR sports a 5.4-litre supercharged, all-aluminium, V8 engine where the cylinders are angled at 90 degrees with three valves per cylinder. The engine generates a maximum power of 641 bhp @ 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 780 Nm @ 3250 rpm. The Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR722 is classified as a supercar and compared to cars like the Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

The ninth most powerful car in the world is the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. This car was first shown at the Geneva Motor show in March 2006, as a facelifted version of the Lamborgini Murcielago coupe.

It features a 6.5-litre V12 engine and is capable of churning out 640 bhp of power @ 8000 rpm. The 12 cylinder engine reaches a maximum torque of 657 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. The car has typical Lamborghini design. The engineers and designers have reworked the Murgielago's engine, electronics, gearbox, suspensions, brakes and exhaust system to produce the newer version and renamed it as LP640.

With the increased bore and longer stroke, the LP640 have boosted power from 6.2-litres to 6.5-litres, thereby elevating the power of the engine from 580 bhp to 640 bhp.
