Title: Hara Bhara Kebabs

Hara Bhara Kebabs
Time: 15-30 mins |

Ingredients:
2 tbsp - chana dal (split bengal gram)
12 mm (½") - piece ginger
2 cloves - garlic, grated
2 - green chillies, finely chopped
½ cup - spinach (palak), blanched, drained and roughly chopped
¼ cup - green peas, boiled
¼ cup - low fat paneer, grated
½ tsp - chaat masala
¼ tsp - garam masala
salt to taste

Other Ingredients:
3 tbsp - whole wheat bread crumbs
1 tsp - oil for cooking

Method:

1. Pressure cook the chana dal, ginger, garlic and green chillies with ¾ cup of water for 2 to 3 whistles or until the dal is cooked.
2. Drain out and discard any excess water.
3. Combine the spinach, green peas and cooked dal mixture and blend to a coarse paste without using any water.
4. Add the paneer, chaat masala and garam masala and mix well.
5. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape them into flat kebabs.
6. Roll the kebabs in the bread crumbs.
7. Serve hot.

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Makes: 6 kebabs

Note:

* It is an Health Recipe for Diabetics.
* A healthy vegetarian version of kebabs with a tasty blend of ingredients.
* The spinach adds to its vitamin A content while contributing very little to the carbohydrate levels.
* The green peas add bulk and fibre to this dish.
* Roll these kebabs in whole wheat bread crumbs to make them more nourishing than those coated with refined flour (maida), bread crumbs or rava.
* Serve hot.
