Sabudana khichdi: If you are looking for a healthy and energising breakfast option which will be light on your tummy, then sabudana (sago) khichdi is something you must try. It is full of carbohydrates and starch that provide a boost of energy. It is easy to digest due to its very low in fat content. Best option to jumpstart your day.

Indian-style Eggs: Masala omlete, boiled eggs, egg sandwich and bhurji are healthy breakfast dishes especially when accompanied by brown bread and prepared with little oil and spices. A masala omlette or bhurji will even satisfy the urge to have a masale-daar meal.

Khakra: Khakra is a stiff Roti famous in Gujarati households. It serves as a good breakfast item accompanied by curd, chutney, ghee or even cheese and honey. You can also opt for healthy choices like diet khakras.

Daliya: Also eaten as a snack, Daliya is a light and healthy dish which makes it an excellent breakfast choice. Unrefined wheat or daliya is full of complex carbohydrates and fibres and can be prepared with almost no effort. An addition of nuts could make it more tasty.

Desi Sandwich: A sandwich filling of tomatoes, potato, chutney and other healthy veggies would work well for a day when lunch is far away. It is filling enough to keep you satiated till you get a chance dig into your next meal. The sandwich filling can also be changed according to your preferences.
