Inspired her own childhood memories, Belgium based artist  Annette Thas created a massive collection of Barbie dolls entitled 'Wave 1' for this year featured at the 10th annual Sculptures by the Sea exhibition in Cottlesoe, Australia. Wave 1 is 12 feet wide and towers 9 feet above viewers, the wave of Barbie dolls have each been individually woven together. Annette who collected over 3,000 used dolls from second hand stores and sales to complete this epic work of art. Each Barbie is supposed to be a symbol of the doll's former owner, too.
